Halloween and Such

G's peacock costume arrived and we had a dress rehearsal on Monday in preparation for Halloween on Thursday.   Halloween was then cancelled, but I'll get to that.
Check out this peacock!

We laughed and quickly decided that we would have to ditch the feetsy covers at go time.  She fell numerous times in the kitchen and nearly broke her birdy leg.  We all know what happens when a  bird breaks a leg.  The same thing that happens to a horse.  Or maybe that's when it breaks a wing.  We couldn't risk those odds, so we would have to go without the feetsy covers.

Fast forward to Wednesday.  The forecast for Thursday (Halloween) was calling for showers and thunderstorms.  So the great city of Indianapolis postponed Halloween until Friday.
Say what?
That can happen?
They can do that?
What is this, Whoville and the Grinch has stolen Halloween?  Or is there some Wizard of Indy that said "no way, no how?"
Well, apparently they can and they did.
Guess who blew off the rules and took her kid trick or treating on October 30?
The mother of this li'l peacock:

The peacock perfected her strut, and we hit up 3 houses and implored them to give us compliments, not candy.

This one makes me howl.  She looks like Jack Black in that Nacho Libre Mexican wrestling movie.

On Friday we went to visit my parents and have some family photos taken.
Our girl was all smiles when YaYa and Bob took her for a walk.

We were all smiles when my parents volunteered to keep her Saturday and Sunday and bring her home Monday.
We went for drinks on Saturday night and then for a run on Sunday morning.

While we were working on our fitness, Genevieve had a lovely afternoon at the park with my parents.

We took a nap on Sunday, and also went for a hike later in the day.    The toddler in her Hamburglar pants had a busy day!
